« Sonic Mosaic: Blending Timbral Identities »
Work: Delta
Composer: Juan Arroyo
Duration: 4 minutes
Instruments: 1 flute, 1 clarinet and 1 cello
Written for flute, clarinet and cello, based on a cantus firmus, this piece is the result of research into the blending of timbres of three instruments. Thus, the time of the piece reveals a sound mosaic that runs through the common registers of the flute, clarinet and cello up to the transparent sound of the blown sound. This trio was commissioned by the Conservatoire d’Ivry sur Seine. This trio was commissioned by the Conservatoire d’Ivry-sur-Seine. The premiere of this piece took place on March 3, 2024, performed by the talented students of the municipal conservatory of Ivry-sur-Seine as part of the CoMa festival (Contemporary Music for All) and in collaboration with the MusEA association (Music, Spaces for Amateurs). Through this work, I aimed to delve into the intricate interplay of timbres and the unique characteristics of each instrument, ultimately creating a cohesive and evocative musical experience. I hope you find the journey as enriching and enlightening as I did during its creation.
